Jie Hu is a professor at school of Computer and Information Engineering of Hubei University. She received her PhD. Degree from Wuhan University between 2006-2010 and postdoctoral training from Carleton University between 2013-2015. She also worked as a visiting scholar at Carleton University between 2008-2010.

Over the years, she has been engaged in semantic database, complex data management, and intelligent systems research. She has hosted several national and provincial level projects and horizontal projects. She also participated in a National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and a National Program on Key Basic Research Project (973 Program) as the key member. She has published more than 20 papers and 1 book, including 6 well-known international conference papers such as ER, DEXA etc.
